Fender 69 Thinline Telecaster
As well as being a beautiful looking guitar, the Fender 69 Thinline Tele has a distinctive tone & a great light weight feel. The guitar is not actually hollow, it has just had some of the wood carved out underneath the F hole. The body is made of Mahogany (except on the 3 colour Sunburst model where its Ash) & this also makes it sound different to a regular Tele.
Here's what Fender say about the 69 Thinline Tele
The semi-hollow-body design was originally an attempt to reduce the weight of the solid-body Telecaster guitar; the f-hole being the most apparent visual clue to its construction. With its reshaped pickguard, the 69 Telecaster Thinline is a lightweight addition to the Tele family, but with heavyweight feel and tone.
