I cannot believe the quality of this guitar for the money,I did not expect so much resonance because of the weight(it's quite light),but it rings, must be the mahogany body?,The sounds from the gibson "Iommi" pickups are just like Mr Iommi himself, with loads of sustain. The thin taper neck is a dream to play, with a full 24 frets!.Grover tuners are good, as you would expect,Looks great.all that for under £400 an absolute bargain.

I bought this guitar as a replacement for my ageing standard g-400. I'd fancied this guitar for a while being a serious fan of Tony Iommi for over 25 years. The first thing that struck me when I unwrapped the beast was what a beautiful guitar this is to look at, Black, Black and a bit more Black. The finish on the guitar is superb compared to my g-400 which was always a bit ragged around the edges from day 1. I soon had the guitar tuned and ready to have a blast. The sound difference between the 2 guitars is astonishing, the tone that came out of my amp was out of this world and almost pinned me against the wall! I've had this guitar for around a month now and to say I am happy with it would be a serious understatement. Big tone (excuse the pun) and stunning looks from a guitar straight from hell. If you are into stonking riffs then this is the guitar you need!

This is one of the best value rock guitars on the market and is a fitting tribute to the man who created heavy metal, Tony Iommi.

This is one of the best Epiphone electric guitars in terms of construction and finish (as you would expect from a signature model). What really pushes this guitar ahead of the majority of other Epiphones (including Les Pauls) is the set of Gibson Tony Iommi Signature pickups. These super-hot pickups deliver awesome rock tones with both power and clarity. According to the Gibson website they have a higher output than even the most recent Les Paul Burstbuckers. However they clean up nicely with the guitar or amp volume rolled off. The usual RRP is around £100 for each pickup, so this is a great package.

The all black finish is excellent and the hardware is rock-solid, much better than on my Epiphone Les Paul. The Grover tuners are excellent and sturdy. The guitar came well set up and the cross inlays on the fretboard add some extra flair to this Black Sabbath monster. Also, the strap button is located on the top horn of the guitar (rather than the back like other SGs) which provides better balance when playing standing up.

Overall, if you play rock, blues or metal and want that ballsey Gibson sound this is by far the best guitar in the price range. This guitar isn't just confined to metal, with a little amp tweaking you can get a broad range of rock sounds fairly easily. Epiphone have done an excellent job with this signature model and it is also available left handed.

Tony would be proud of this guitar.
