So far a good little amp

So far a good little amp

This is my first valve amp and a its a real step up in sound quality. Its small and portable for my gigs and practises but easily loud enough and it also performs really well at home practise levels.

The sound is very bright and sparkly which needs to be tamed at higher volumes and the clean sound is its real strong point. It takes any pedal i throw at it, and i can even get a decent metal sound with the right pedal. Overall i would say this amp is a good purchase for anyone from amatuer to proffessional who wants a versatile amp with great clean sounds, perfect for blues, country, rock, pop or stick your favourite pedals in front of it

When I looked around for advice on what combo to buy, that was simple to use, with a good sound and that was flexible enough to use at practice volume, but with enough volume to cope with a small gig, almost everyone said Fender Blues Junior.

Having owned one for two weeks I can only say they were all correct.

Having been deliberating for some time, I’m glad I delayed my decision until the “III” was available because I prefer the black control panel that’s “the right way around” and the sound is definitely brighter and warmer ( Does that make sense?)

With my Gibson Les Paul I’m dead pleased with the flexibility and sounds I can get

The spring reverb is excellent so much better than a digital pedal.

Although not an amp that’s designed for high gain metal tones, by cranking up the gain and dropping the master volume you can get a significant amount of distortion, to give a great blues lead sound or a nice beefy sound for chords

The Fat switch increases saturation but not that much more volume.

It looks good and is a manageable size.

From the research I did I think you would have to spend more than twice as much elsewhere to get anything that is as good and it still would not have that Fender sparkle.

    I’ll be keeping it

Great, well built little amp' with classic Fender quality. It's hard to believe it's only rated at 15 watts! Creamy blues tone with lovely "break-up" as input gain is increased. Really simple, no frills amp' with a well deserved reputation. Very happy with the purchase, and would recommend it to others.
