I sold my Vox VT40+ to buy the Fender Frontman and I'm delighted I did. The Vox is great but it's too busy for my purposes. When the Frontman arrived I plugged my Epiphone Sheraton in and the sound was pristine, crystal clear and had that classy fender sound. I'm not sure what that is exactly but it sounded 'right'. The front controls are simple and there's no fussy amp modelling and built in fx to distract you. The two way footswitch is rugged and well built to change between the two overdrive channels. The overdrive is excellent for what I do (melodic indie rock)and the 'more drive' channel is great for a distortion sound but I prefer the plain old overdrive. Great for a bit of bite, plus open chords ring out clearly even on full o/d saturation. Best of all it says 'Fender' on that lovely grille cloth and looks the biz. If you're a metalhead look elsewhere but otherwise I'd give this a 4/5. Only downside is no master volume for overall control of both channels but not a deal breaker.

I recently purchesed this amp not knowing what to expect, as I had only bought Marshalls in the past, and I was delighted. It has as lovely tone and clean, drive and more drive channels which can be easily changed by either the amp or the foot controller (which comes free). It has loads of buttons and dials for you to get your prefered setup - but don't go wacking every dial up to 10 in a small room as this thing is seriously LOUD!

Overall I think this amp is excellent value for money and a great purchase that I would recomend it to anyone.

Bought for home use and occasional band outings, this amp is just brilliant! With the strat, it allows the clean classic tone that you'd expect Fender to make, but throw in the overdrive and 'more drive' channels (accessible using the free footswitch which they've included in the package), and you've got a great lead setup! Plenty of dials to find your perfect tone, with onboard contour boosts to give you even more options!! Well pleased, thankyou Fender!!!!

I recently purchased a Fender Frontman 212R. I have owned many amps since I was a kid and it's always the Fenders that stand out. I have cranked a guitar thru this amp and it is Loud with a capital "L",and clear as a bell, and the overdrive feature is outstanding. The Fender spring reverb has always been the best in the business to my liking. I also play an electro/acoustic mandolin through this amp and it sounds as natural through the clean channel as if I were playing a pure acoustic with no amplification. I couldn't ask for more out of an amp, my only wish is they made this model with valves, but hey who knows with Fender...never dissatisfied.

For the price you really cant fall off with this amp! Superb Fender tone at all volume level also, on the subject of volume, stamp on the channel select and move out of the way....This amp had our bassist reaching 11 on his crate amp, put it that way!

    For less than £200, awesome!
