Vintage Modified Jazz Bass

This is one stylish guitar. Great looks, and the Squier name that you can trust to deliver a quality instrument at a price point to suit beginners as well as more established players.

Here's what Squier say about the Vintage Modified Jazz Bass

Is funkify a word? It is now, baby, thanks to Squier's new retro-inspired Vintage Modified Jazz Bass guitar! This handsome natural-finish bass features a soft maple body and one-piece maple neck with sharp-looking black binding and block inlays on the 20-fret maple fingerboard.

That soulful sound emanates from a pair of single-coil Duncan Designed Jazz Bass pickups; other features include chrome hardware and machine heads, a three-ply pickguard and a four-saddle chrome bridge.

I wouldn't normally buy a bass untried but, after reading many favourable reviews about the Squier VM and CV ranges and needing a back-up instrument on a tight budget, I decided to take a chance. Thouroughly glad I did! The finish is excellent, the pickups deliver the tone I want from a 'Jazz' style bass (and a whole lot more)and the neck has a 'satin' finish which I prefer to the high gloss laquer found on so many other basses. You would have to look very hard to find a comparable bass of this quality for this kind of money. I have a feeling that this bass will be with me for a very long time.

Punches WAY above its price range. Neck is the best I've played since I sold on my '76 Precision. Duncan designed pickups have a lot of clout - much more oomph than those on the Epiphone Thunderbird IV (Which i also own). They provide all the usual Jazz bass tones from hearty Jam-esque "Plonk" to Creamy smooth tones (Think "What is and What should not be" or "Ramble on" by Zeppelin. 2nd best bass I've ever owned in 20 years of playing. Hell of a lot of bass for the money.
