Like the guitar, the SG bass has been one of rock's defining instruments. This reproduction is true to the Gibson original light, fast, and loaded with a Sidewinder humbucker and a mini-humbucker to give it tonal power, and a set neck to give it the sustain that made the original famous. Limited lifetime warranty.

on getting this bass, it looked better than i thought, despite having tried one out in a local shop, upon getting to the band i am ins guitarists house where my amp is (because its too heavy to lug about)i was blown away by the sound and felt at home with it straight away, me and this bass are going to have a long relationship (well until the chapman bass comes out anyway)i cannot find fault with it, looks great, plays great, and sounds great

The bass is well made and the fittings look reasonable quality. I was not disappointed with the build quality of the EB3, but the factory setup was hopeless. The neck had reverse (backward) bow which was easily fixed by adjusting the truss rod. The main problem was the nut which was set 4 times higher than Epiphone say it should be and not so easy to correct. Out of the box this bass was almost unplayable. Once corrected, this bass produces a big and full sound from the large sidewinder neck pickup while the mini pickup provides some top end to the very deep room rattling low end notes. Overall, I would have given 4 stars, losing one as its not the most comfortable or versatile bass to play due to the strap location and design. The setup issue could be a one off or a manufacturing run defect and is Why I have given it only 2 stars for nuisance value. look at, and try before you buy if you can, or ask the shop expert to look for you if buying mail order, as it could be another duff one. Only buy from a proper music shop such as Andertons who have the knowledge to correct defective setup issues.
