I'm a guitarist. I do a lot of theatre orchestra work and I'm fed up of being provided with rubbish chairs which do my back in, and do my bum in. This stool provides excellent ergonomic support. It's sturdy and portable. The reasons for not giving 5 stars are a) I would have preferred a cloth cover (it can get quite sweaty in the pit), and b) the cost - it is very pricey. Nonetheless, I'm glad I bought this drum throne and regard it as a good investment.

This stool costs more than most, but in my opinion it's worth it. I am actually a keyboard player (of advanced years!) and suffer from a bad back. This stool has made playing much more comfortable due to the rock solid stability and adjustable back rest which sits right on your spine for support. It has four legs (lots of stools only have three) and so it is really solid and appears very well made. The height is easily adjustable and you can either have it so it rotates (if you play multiple instruments for example) or fixed like I prefer. It packs down easily for transporting and although I have not had it long the fittings are robust and look like they will last for many years. All in all a great stool - I have tried others (including several drum thrones and keyboard benches) but this one suits me best, particulalry for long gigs.
