Main Description

This small diameter Stage Custom Bop kit from Yamaha - ideal for Jazz, Be-bop and some pop music - is made of birch with chrome hardware and makes a great kit in lighter styles, or when compactness and portability are required. Just like the rest of the Stage Custom line, the Stage Custom Bop kit's birch construction delivers crisp and warm tones. These shells are responsive to one's playing and great for dynamic drummers.

N.B. Cymbal stands, cymbals, stool, kick pedal snare & tom holder not included.

This is a well-engineered and sensibly designed set with nothing unnecessary or flash about it. Six lugs all around works absolutely fine and makes for easy tuning. Excellent hardware like spurs, legs and holders and good quality supplied heads that are ready to go. A wide tuning range and really good modern sound. Quite heavy shells make the set feel substantial and solid and up to the job. Sold without snare or hardware means you get maximum quality drums for the £ and no stuff you don't really need. Played them in rehearsal today with my band and we all went "wow, what great drums!"

Bass drum is warm and powerful, and the toms loud and bright and with a wide tuning range. The fitted heads are professional grade, don't need swapping and will last ages. I like Yamaha gear (I play Yamaha clarinets too) as their "not gimmicky but carefully thought out" approach works across all price levels. As a three drum bop set this does not lumber you with yet more stands and a snare you don't need. My band like them for the clarity of sound and neat stage foorprint. I would recommend the Yamaha Stage Custom Bop set as a decent professional instrument at an amazing price.
