    I bought this drum head for my gretsch catalina maple bass drum and was a bit dissapointed, i bought thinking that it might control the overtones that bass drums usually have, but this did not do too much to help the sound, as you can imagine this was predictable considering that most bass drums have pillows and duvets inside them in order to keep the sound controlled, and the pinstripe head only has a thin black ring to control the sound, however this head is good because it is a two ply and so is more durable than a single. If you want a bass drum head with more control and dampening then go for the evans emad or one of the powerstroke heads or even the thw aqaurian super which i used instead.
