The young guy took my search for a new crash cymbal very seriously . . he got about 15 out as I tried them one at a time and finally settled on the Sabian Explosion.
I wouldn't say "Explosion" was the right word as it is similar to my two Zyldjian "Dark" crashes. The sound is rich with good attack and great tone whether hit softly or hard (which is one of the most important features for me - I have a 35 year old Paiste crash which sounds great if you wallop it but a gentle hit sounds terrible).
Anyway - I have gigged with it and I love it!
