The M-Audio Axiom 25 may be a compact size but it is crammed with features. This advanced 25-key USB mobile MIDI controller features both semi-weighted action and assignable aftertouch, plus eight rubberized trigger pads that put drum programming and performance at your fingertips. Eight endless rotary encoder knobs let you get your hands on synth parameters, virtual mixer controls and more. Six transport controls can also assign to control other MIDI parameters. Virtually everything is freely MIDI-assignable and the backlit LCD screen makes programming easy and intutive. You get 20 memory locations for on-board storage, plus free Enigma editor/librarian software to manage an unlimited number of setups via computer - a free download to registered owners. The M-Audio Axiom 25 has one simple USB connection that serves as both a MIDI interface and bus power source. Class compliancy with Windows XP and Mac OS X means that you can get down to business with the M-Audio Axiom 25 without even installing any drivers.     Great bit of kit but a word of caution...

    It's not as 'plug and play' on Ableton as you might like/hope/suspect. As a relatively inexperienced user I spent a good while mapping and messing about before I actually got it doing what I wanted it to do.

    More comprehensive instructions would help!

    A well built solid little keyboard. Nice action on the keys and responsive pads and dials.

    Connected readily with my windows 7 laptop, and even more usefully is integrated straight into Reason 5. On detecting the keyboard Reason offered to overwrite a user patch. On selecting this patch the controls are sensibly mapped to functions on the active instrument, but these can be easily changed if required.

    Highly recommended.
