The Yamaha KX49 USB Keyboard Studio combines a 49-key initial touch USB controller keyboard with Steinberg Cubase AI4 software for a complete and integrated music production package. The Yamaha KX49 provides transport control functions for recording and playback, assignable buttons assignable to a list of functions with 1 pitch bend wheel, 1 modulation wheel, 4 assignable encoder knobs and 37 patch switches.

Steinberg Cubase AI4 is a special, compact version of Steinberg’s famed music production software that is bundled with the Yamaha KX49 keyboard. Based on the same technology as Cubase 4, Cubase AI4 offers powerful yet easy-to-use software tools for audio recording, editing, MIDI sequencing and mixing. Being highly integrated, the combinated of Yamaha KX49 keyboard and Steinberg software provide a completely integrated hardware/software production system.

As well as integrating with the bundled Cubase AI4, the Yamaha KX49 provides integration with Steinberg Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4 DAW software so you can start MIDI production without the need for complex setup procedures.

A built-in arpeggiator with 500 pre-programmed phrases is simple to use with a range of drum, guitar, bass, keyboard and other musical phrases built in. Select an instrument and style, then hold the appropriate notes to play or enter MIDI phrase data. For example, a guiitarist could create a demo with all instruments except his guitar created by the KX49 arpeggiator, then overdub the guitar tracks.

Control templates for 30 different tone modules are built-in the Yamaha KX49, with the most commonly used parameters automatically assigned to the KX49 four real-time control encoders. The KX Editor application, downloadable from the Yamaha website, allows detailed parameter assignment and editing for the four encoders and assignable buttons. You can create different parameter sets for production and performance, or for different types of music, and simply switch them as required.

Keyboard velocity reponse can be adjusted in 6 steps on the Yamaha KX49 to match tone modules and playing styles.
