SE Electronics SE2000 Microphone

Introducing the SE2000 Cardioid condenser mic. These great mics from Chinese based manufacturer SE Electronics can compete with the big boys when it comes to sound quality and it's frankly amazing that such an affordable mic can look sound so professional!

This is the ideal first condenser... It won't break the bank if you're trying to get into recording. It's versatile enough to record everything from vocals, to drums, to acoustic guitars, and even electric guitar cabs. If you need a pair, for drum overheads or stereo guitars, again, the SE2000 is unlikely to stretch the budget too much!

SE Even throw in a dedicated shockmount to reduce unwanted mechanical vibrations. It's rare to be able to say a mic in this price range includes a shockmount - so you know that you'll be ready to go straight out of the box with the SE2000.

Large diaphragm mics tend to flatter vocals in particular as the size of the diaphragm means they are more sensitive to subtle nuances. They impart more 'character' to the sound due to their less-even frequency response (compared to small diaphragm condensers) which means that any LDC is an investment because you can count on it to have a unique quality to the sound.

If you've been recording solely with dynamic mics, now could be the time to switch to the open, full frequency sound of condensers that you will recognise as a professional "sheen" that you normally hear on recordings in the charts.

Here's what SE Electronics say about the SE2000

The sE Electronics SE2000 Condenser Microphone is perfect for recording vocals and acoustic instruments.

The SE Electronics SE 2000 is a large diaphragm, cardioid pattern microphone that utilises a one inch, centre terminated, gold sputtered mylar diaphragm capsule. This works in conjunction with low noise Class A, FET circuitry and a transformer balanced output stage.

The SE2000 features a wide frequency response with a very subtle presence lift, which makes it suitable for recording studio vocals as well as most acoustic instruments and ensembles.

Unbeatable value for money. Only having bought it yesterday, I can hardly say I've put it through its paces, but:

although mine didn't come with the wooden box, it did come with a £49.00 pop shield (the SE metal mesh one)! Astounding!

The SE Electronics SE2000 Microphone, was exactly what I needed for my bedroom production studio.

I'm a music making lover, but I don't have the time nor the energy to spend pounds and pounds and hours and hours on crafting a sound proof vocal booth or learning intricate and (self admittedly) boring technicalities of recording vocals and instruments. I love making music, and making it now!

The SE2000 is excellent value for the immediate punch of sound it gives but also for the fact that my studio isn't set up for a perfect vocal recording. There seemed little point in spending much more.

Every recording I've done, I cannot fault in its definition and substance.

I'm sure every real studio engineer in the world would disagree, but I don't care, 'cos I love it!

The SE2000, perfect for the budget studio and the musician who wants to record, NOW!

Absolutely fantastic value for money. I don't have to much experience in condenser mics but i am so chuffed with this one. Does everything I want for the price I paid for it. Previously I had a Samson C03U usb condenser mic and the Se2000 blows it out of the water. Incredible on the low range vocals and quite good on the high range as well. Works best with soft vocals however captures acoustic guitar very well indeed. Couldn't be more happy with the product considering the price range and what you get with it.

Very good sounding mic for the price. Most stores selling this mic has no wooden box included as i went to 3 stores in bristol. I like it, as long as you know a good settings on your DAW otherwise very sensitive. I have a sample with the link below, all picked up on this mic. The sound on the vid was changed since i edit it on youtube editor and can't revert it back but hope you get the idea on how good this mic is.

Best budget condenser Microphone i've ever bought, brilliant clarity for vocals and acoustic guitar. Also the high shelving eq and -10dB Pad are very welcome additions, along with the included shock mount and box, all of which you would never expect to get with a microphone of this price.

Great condenser microphone, on a budget, I have been recording Acoustic instruments, Guitars drums etc, with this, as well as Vocals, with a definite degree of quality sound,

Comes in a handy hard case, made from wood, with a metal latch, encased in foam, also included in the package is the shock cradle, which definitely reduces any vibration or buzz that may end up in the sound

    Great product, Good service thanks.

Good microphone for vocals. The signal to noise ratio is ok and gives good clean accurate recordings. Must be used in a suitable acoustic environment as it is very sensitive to other noises in the room. The only problem is at some points the microphone picks up some interference. It might be something to do with the room I'm recording in but it's worth noting just in case it isn't!

But for the price, the microphone is probably one of the best in it's price range.
