The RØDE M3 is a highly versatile condenser microphone powered by 9V battery or phantom power.

Featuring a heavy duty metal body and internally shock mounted 1/2" condenser capsule mounted for end-address, the M3 is at home in the studio, on stage or on location and is equally suitable as a vocal microphone, guitar microphone, drum microphone or presenter microphone.

A -10dB and -20dB level attenuation (or PAD), selectable from inside the battery compartment, allows recording of loud sound sources, such as a guitar amplifier or drum. A high-pass filter selectable on the microphone power switch introduces a filter at 80Hz to reduce low frequency sounds and handling noise.

The RØDE M3 versatile multi-powered microphone is covered by RØDE Microphones' industry leading 10 year warranty.

First 'proper job' was recoring a sring quartet concert - amazing quality for the price. Slightly daunted by the size and weight, but if that's what it takes to get the sound right so be it!

I was going to buy another well respected brand but was convinced by the guys at Andertons to buy this. In fact I wanted two for some stereo recording and overhead drum mics. I'm glad they convinced me because these are excellent mics and great value for money. You can't go wrong.

Yet another brilliant mic from Rode. Excellent sound quality combined with a robust metal construction with option of battery power (for when you don't happen to have phantom power available) make for a very, very usable piece of kit. At nine inches long, it is a little larger than most microphones, especially when compared to the Shure SM57 (which is a munchkin of a mic when placed side by side with the M3). A great all rounder for both live & recording use, particularly acoustic instruments. At this price, it is very hard to beat.

The Rode M3 is a budget mic but does a good job. So far have used it to record classical guitar and this produces a good result. Fantastic for the money!
