A few days after christmas, and after months of anticipation, i set off to Andertons to buy the Boss DD-7 digital delay pedal. I'd read some very good reviews of it beforehand, and researched it extensively. When I bought the pedal, and I set off back home in my car with the pedal on my lap, I instantly tore open all the packaging, and cradled the pedal in my hands. It looked gorgeous, but, of course, that wasn't what mattered, it was the sound. I got home, plugged it in, and, my hands shaking with trepidation, strummed a chord on my guitar. I was immediately rewarded for all my days of excitement and anxiety from the second I heard a warm, harmonic slapback eminating from my amp. This delay pedal is possibly the best delay pedal I've ever used, immensly simple, diverse, durable and very reliable. It's pretty, well built, has very long delay times, a very easy to use hold system, and a very useful tap tempo. Set on an analogue mode, with a long delay time and about 4-6 delays, you get a vintage tone, diminishing steadily, but allows further notes to cut through the delays like a hot knife through butter. And then, you have the modulate delay, a very nice, modern setting which adds a tad bit of chorus to your sound. There are so many more modes, that are all just as good you'd expect from a boss compact pedal. Easy to use, just about 5 minutes after starting using it, I could coax everything from a cool slapback to Rush-esque spaceship sounds. A good quality casing and true hardwear bypass sealed the deal for me, and this is a pedal i'm proud to have on my pedalboard, one which i hope will stay with me for as long as I play, and hopefully for you, if you do choose to purchase one. Thanks for reading!
