this pedal really is good. for me it was between this and the MXR carbon copy but in the end the flashback won the battle heres why...
in my opinion the carbon copy was a great pedal however lacked versitility this little gem from TC electronics however couldn't be more different. i'm usually more concerned about pedals with too many options but the flashback is truly a master of all trades i cand say that all the modes are useful and i was able to get lots of pleasing tones from mine. the controls felt just right as well making it a sinch to dial in the prefered sound, and the dual delay mode makes for some very interesting effects. the tap tempo feature is really handy too and its probably this that put the flashback over the top when compared to its rivals, just hold the switch in strum the desired interval and presto perfectly synced repeats.
however there are some bad points too in my opinion the analogue setting is not as convincing as real stand alone delays a minor point however as the tones available are great in their own way my biggest gripe with this thing however is the loop function and the bypass switch after the first dub of your looping madness there is a very noticable volume drop that i cant seem to compensate for to get balanced loops. also because the switch isn't very high i find myself kicking the delay mode switch off the loop function when i'm trying to record my overdubs, these might be more due to my general lack of proficiancy as a player but i thought it should be mentioned.
still a 5 star product crammed with tonal possibilities that will meet the needs of even the most elaborate soundscape artists out there, the tone print feature and tap tempo alone make this pedal a serious bit of kit that i suspect will find its way onto a lot of pedalboards out there. this pedal has done wonders for my tone adding depth, chime and lush modulation to an otherwise very muddy signal. for the price you cant go wrong. go buy it!
