The Rockbox Red Dog overdrive is the second pedal from Rockbox Electronics. The companion to the highly acclaimed Boiling point, the Red Dog is an extemely versatile overdrive that does everything from a fat boost to searing lead distortion.

Every Red Dog pedal comes in a unique red swirl finish. Please note we cannot guarantee what your pedal will look like exactly, but rest assured that we've never seen one that looks anything less than great!

Take a listen to the Red Dog for yourself in the videos below. The first time we heard that sweet sustain, it took our heads off with how smooth and  it sounded!

Here's what Rock Box say about the Red Dog Pedal

The Rockbox The Red Dog is a distinctive distortion pedal with volume and gain controls to easily dial in tones from a tweed-like overdrive to aggressive punch. The Red Dog was originally voiced to work best as an "always on" distortion and respond to picking dynamics and the volume knob on a guitar. In recent auditions by our family of artists, however, we are finding that the Red Dog is also a great distintive solo machine with a signature note bloom and immediacy not present in other distortion devices, especially above the 12th fret. The Red Dog is also a superior solo machine when placed after the Boiling Point, with the Boiling Point set to mild clean boost. If you are a volume knob player, you will love how this pedal will clean up for a thick, classic rhythm sound.

The Red Dog is built using the finest audiophile grade components we can find, with minimum signal path interference for a very present response.

Final assembly of our effects are followed one final test: Each finished pedal is auditioned using the best test we know of - we listen to it.

We truly believe that the Red Dog is one of the finest distortion effects you will ever purchase. The Red Dogwill add a wide range of useful tones to your toolbox. Even with the Red Dog signature sound, it will allow your guitar's sound to remain the foundation of that sound even with the most aggressive distortion settings.

If you are like most of us, and have wasted money in the past on effects that just didn't cut it, the Red Dog will make a believer out of you. We think that you will find the Red Dog to be a useful tool in your arsenal of sound, and will get a permanent spot on your pedalboard.

I got this pedal from Andertons and am really pleased with it.

From opening the box and seeing the pedal encased in a red velvet bag, you get an instant impression of quality. Each one is hand built and signed by the builder with its id number. I read the enclosed instruction and cabled it into my amp. I use a Peavey Valveking 212 100w amp. The sound from this pedal is awesome, no other way to describe it, just......awesome.

I use this on the clean channel and use it for smooth overdrive sounds. The pedal is very responsive to the guitars volume control so you can clean it up by backing the volume off to get very good tones. From the same settings i can use it to do greenday songs and foo fighters, but then back my guitar volume and can do razorlite and biffy clyro with that "just off clean sound"

The build quality is very good, and paintwork is unique.

I would recommend this to people without a shadow of a doubt and i have not stopped grinning from ear to ear !!
