Digitech Jamman Stereo Looper Pedal

The JamMan Stereo, as the name suggests, now caters for stereo loops unlike it's predecessor. It also allows for reverse playback. The Jam Man Stereo is a great tool for managing your backing tracks live, or creating new sounds and textures. It also has a balanced, low-impedance mic input (as you'd get on a mixing desk for example) so you can loop your vocal tracks as well, adding another dimension to your music - you can harmonise with yourself!

The JamMan Stereo can hold 35 minutes of audio out of the box, but it also has an SD Card slot so you can hold up to 16 hours of audio on your pedal.

You no longer have to go to the awkward lengths of playing loops into the pedal in real time. Thanks to a USB connection on the pedal and the included JamManager software, you can manage your loops and simply drag and drop audio files to transfer them to the JamMan Solo.

Here's what Digitech say about the JamMan Stereo

When we developed the PDS 8000 looper pedal over twenty years ago, it looped eight seconds of audio. When we reinvented loopers in 2005 with the original JamMan, over 6 hours worth of material could be stored on a removable media card. Now, DigiTech has raised the bar with the new JamMan Stereo Looper with the ability to store 35 minutes of CD-quality loops in 99 internal memories as well as having an SD memory card expansion slot giving you the ability to store over 16 hours* of material in an additional 99 slots.

The JamMan Stereo also features true stereo looping, reverse playback, and a mic input making it perfect for backing tracks or DJ applications.

The JamMan Stereo features USB connectivity and will sync to DigiTech's free JamManager software that organizes and saves your JamMan Stereo loops to PC or Mac. JamManager also lets you quickly create custom JamLists to take to your gig.

Features

  • Store over 35 minutes of stereo, CD-Quality loops in 99 internal memories
  • Optional SDHC card can store over 16 hours* of CD-quality audio in 99 additional memories (198 total)

  • Load up the JamMan with bass lines, drums, harmonies, and more; create an entire backup band, take it with you, and perform anywhere!

Excellent looper, does exactly what it says on the tin.

If it had a volume level for the guitar input, it would have got five stars instead of four.

A little confusing at first but I soon got used to it. Plemty of space to store a ton of loops and a clean (but sometimes unclear) interface. All in all, a very good buy. I'd definately recommend it!

Excellent product. a bit disapointed at first there was no battery compartment not sure how you would busk with this like the boss looper. i owned the boss 20xl so can only relate to this but the jamman stereo is a lot better, sound wise it sound more vibrant tons of memory ive loaded backing tracks straight of my pc. the extra buttons for changing up or down is good at first i prefer the boss type foot switch but im getting used to these. headphones and aux means i can plug in mic, guitar and backing tracks and practice as well as writing own songs wich can be saved as wave files back on the pc also much cheaper than the boss 30xl. would recomend!

The Jamman Stereo is a robust piece of kit, with space for upto 99 loops, of upto around 10 minutes duration, with the onboard memory, expandable with COTS memory cards.

It's easy to use and get looping. Overdubbing is simple, and the auto quantise is a useful function.

2 minor gripes - I can't dial in the tempo, I have to punch it in. It would've been nice to be able to dial in 120 bpm at the flick of a dial

    There's no midi.

Again, it's not as if these features were hidden, more expensive kit may feature these as standard so well worth factoring in, if these are essential to your requirements.

The Andertons service was excellent. It was reportedly the last item in stock. I phoned in to make sure they had it, and when informed it was the demonstration model, they phoned my back later to confirm that I still wanted it, as they said there was some small cosmetic damage.

I've yet to find the damage, and they rather obligingly sent me a spare guitar cable gratis. The goods arrived promptly within the agreed timeframe (next day).

    Well done guys :)

I'd recommend the Digitech Jamman Stero to anyone looking for a good looper. The sound quality is good and it's easy to use. I've not had so much fun on my guitar for years! It's so easy to record a few chords and then just start playing lead overtop. And very prompt delivery from Andertons too.

I use this in my guitar pedalboard to trigger pre-recorded samples and loops. For this purpose it is great and everyone who's seen it in action has been blown away.

It would be a bit easier to use if it had a large lcd display to show loop names. Because it doesn't I need to always have a cheat sheet with me.

The software is useful for organizing loops and works great.

This thing is built to take live abuse, and adding an SD card for the full 16 hours playback was only about 20 quid.

I'd highly recommend this for guitarists who'd like to queue up and play backing tracks hands free. The SD card slot was it's main selling point for me. If I lost this pedal I'd instantly buy another....I love it.

After scouring the web & finding Andertons to be not only the most competitive price, but also were offering free next day delivery I quickly placed my order. I wasn't really expecting to receive the unit the next as it was new years eve, many of the roads were still snow covered & I thought there would be a huge pre-christmas delivery back log due to the disrpution caused by the weather.

I was pleasantly surprised when the delivery van turned up as promised the following morning - excellent service, I would def use & recommend Andertons again.

The JamMan Stereo looper is very easy to use. The sound quality is excellent and the user manual is easy to follow. Although not the prettiest pedal to look at, you soon realise how useful those 4 footswitches are. If you add the optional FS3X triple footswitch you then have everything the JamMan can offer at your disposal. The built in rhythm unit is essential to those new to looping and helps to get those seamless loops happening. The fact that you can store 99 loops on board and a further 99 with an SD card fitted makes this great for performing with pre-recorded material. In fact it needn't be a loop at all, it could be upto a ten minute backing track in each memory - depending on available space.

The only downside, hence 4-stars, is that the JamManager software (v1.05) simply doesn't work on most PCs but does on some. This is a widely known concern and Digitech are working to correct it.

I recently bought the Digitech Jamman Stereo from Anderson and couldn't be happier.

The pedal is exactly what is was looking for and in my opinion blows the competitiom out of the water.

The market is full of loop pedals that have been around for a while now and the introduction of the Jamman Stereo is a breath of fresh air with its expandable storage capacity allowing for massive loops to be stored and recalled at the press of a footswitch.

The pedal is extremely intuitive and requires next to no instruction in order to get your first loops going. From then on in it is a pleasure discovering all the extras. A warning though, set aside a good couple of hours when using this as once you're in the zone it's hard to get out!

The Digitech Jam Man Stereo is a serious piece of kit. The sound quality is very good, with no ambient/underlying noise issues. It takes a bit of getting used to, and although you can 'plug and play' even without the quickstart guide, I found myself absorbed in the manual as there are so many little tricks that this unit does - that are sooo good.

For instance: you can save a short loop at for example track 16, copy and paste it to track 17 - overdub a few bits, copy and paste that to track 18 etc, and when you play back track 16, by pressing the up button to 17 it will go to track 17 at the end o loop(16) seemlessly - meantime press up button to 18 and add some more overdubs (think Tubular Bells) It's great. The only thing that is missing in my opinion is a socket to link up with an external metronome / midi trigger. It's very good.
