LovePedal Pickle Vibe Pedal

For a slightly more unusual sound, people have often reached for the Univibe, and this Lovepedal PickleVibe gives you a great variation on a classic "Leslie simulator" tone. Also known as a doppler effect, or a spinning speaker simulator, Lovepedal have recreated a classic in their unique vibey way.

A little bit like pickle - you'll probably either love or hate the idea of the Univibe sound, but there's no arguing that these pedals really give a new and interesting flavour to your playing; Lovepedal have made sure to do this without flattening your tone - just listen to the video demos to hear how dynamic the Lovepedals are, and how tastefully LovePedal have recreated the classic Univibe sounds.

Hear this Lovepedal in action in this video demo

Here's what Lovepedal say about the PickleVibe

Righteous Uni-Vibe Sounds

True bypass, small footprint, huge sound.. Delivers on thick, lush vibe sounds straight out of the sixties.

This is not a copy of the Uni-Vibe circuit, but rather a unique approach to generating those same lush swirling tones.

Speed control on the outside with a large knob so you can turn it with your foot, intensity trim pot on the inside. The trim is a very sensitive adjustment, but once you get it dialed in to taste, it's set it and forget it.

Great quality, compact phaser creating a UniVibe pulsating groove via double phasing.

Small enough to add flavour o any pedalboard and really adds a pulsating low end to rhythms. Kick in front of a boosted gain and solo like Hendrix.

Exact UniVibe clones are usually quite big and expensive.

This is a great quality effect and does great things or the money

Came across these pedals by accident via YouTube....fantastic classic Univibe sounds from such a little box (it takes up a tiny space on my pedal board) Very basic controls i.e. speed (you can toggle the depth via an internal dial, but it's set up well out of the box. Instant Hendrix/Stevie Ray but is applicable in a diverse range of styles making it a versatile pedal that adds a little something different to your sound....Buy one and enjoy!

    Small pedal, BIG SOUND!!

If you're like me and love the sound of a classic Univibe look no further. With just a rate knob to slow down or speed up the effect and a 'set & forget' internal trim pot to govern the overall brightness or thump of the effect, it' s a joy to use, even for the technophobes. It's deep & lush, and also very interactive with an overdrive pedal. Drive in front or drive after? You decide! Classic Hendrix, Trower, Stevie Ray, it's all in there. It's too striking an effect to leave on all the time, but when you do kick it in you'll hear all those classic tones you always strived for. Killer pedal.

I bought this pedal because I wanted to add some flavour options to my pedal board without having to make it bigger. It does what I wanted. I'm not fanatical about the univibe product history. This is a great pedal in that it does what it's supposed to in a very compact but gigworthy package. There's only one control knob that controls vibe speed and it can be adjusted with your foot on-the-fly. The depth of the effect is a little too powerful for my taste. To put this in cntext I'm not looking to use this for Trower or Hendrix covers. I play a Les Paul into a Fender amp. If you play Strat and are looking for the classic tone then this is set pretty well from the factory. I intend to adjust the internal trim pot to reduce the intensity a little but haven't got round to it yet. Hope this helps if you are thinking about buying.

After reading about this pedal and viewing all the demos I could find on the internet, I finally decided to take the plunge and get one of these little beauties. I have to say that I am not disappointed. The sound of the pickle vibe, whilst not quite that of a full blown uni-vibe, is as damned close (to my ears anyway) that you will get. Just set the chicken head knob to where you want it and be rewarded with a rich, lush vibe tone. You can even tinker with the internal trim pot if you are so inclined, but I found the factory setting to be just right. It also works great in front of an overdrive pedal for those "Trower" moments. I wholly recommend this pedal. As usual, excellent service from Anderton's and their couriers.

As an update to my earlier review, the Pickle Vibe has now taken a permanent place on my pedalboard. As a matter of preference, I place mine before any overdrive. All in all, a superb piece of kit that is more addictive than drugs!

I was quite excited to recieve my Pickle Vibe as I'd heard a sample of the sound online and was very impressed. Once it arrived I could'nt wait to plug it in and have a go, so I unpacked it and it was beautiful, brand spanking new and fit in the palm of my hand! Hard to believe something this tiny could live up to its expectations. I didn't have to worry about squeezing it into my already crowded pedalboard as it fits nicely in between and above two pedals. After power up you'll notice the blue flashing light indicating the speed of the swirl which is very handy to know before you turn the effect on. After turning on the effect the sound was amazing. A nice big vintage looking dial made for easy adjustments with my foot and as I turned the dial to adjust the speed I couldn't help but chuckle to myself at what a great purchase this was. Depth adjustments can be made via a dial on the inside of the unit but it was pretty much set where I like it, the depth and colour of the effect is astounding compared to larger, pricier pedals of the same type so if you're looking for that awesome leslie cabinet sound at a great price I highly recommend the Pickle Vibe.
