Reviews

The shimmering reverb is as much a part of the classic Fender tone as the guitars & amps themselves. Now Boss & Fender have teamed up to make you a pedal that delivers classic Fender reverb to any amp. Works best when used through your amps FX loop.

Guitarist Magazine Review

Guitarist magazine featured the FRV-1 in their Quick Test feature. Here's what they said...

"Classic Fender reverbs are warm and lush, and recreating such organic tones can be a difficult one for solid-state units to pull off. Here, though, the FRV-1 twangs in spades, with everything from a subtle enhancement all the way to full-on Dick Dale madness faithfully at your boot tips; even the 'pop' caused by pick attack is recreated."

"As long as you balance the tone with your dry amp signal, you'll get a huge amount from this pedal. It's a compromise, but for general gigging and recording, this is as authentic as it's likely to get."

We like: Simplicity and the tonal authenticity

We dislike: Treble and bass controls would be nice

Guitarist Magazine - Summer 2009

Here's what Boss say about the FRV1 Reverb pedal

A classic reborn - the legendary sound of the 1963 Fender Spring Reverb returns as a modern stompbox. BOSS and Fender USA have collaborated to create the FRV-1, a stunning recreation of the legendary '63 Fender Reverb via COSM technology. The FRV-1 puts that timeless tube-driven reverb sound under your foot in a tough, reliable compact pedal.

A timeless classic - the Fender Spring Reverb is the sound that launched the surf-music phenomenon, and is a staple of rockabilly, country, and blues. Later, it became commonplace in grunge and other modern genres. Now the same legendary sound can be had in an affordable, rugged compact pedal.

    Rating

This is one of the nicest reverb pedals on the market.

Sounds great with my little fender champ amp.

Also sounds great when used with a harmonica!

As close to having a Fender reverb unit as you can get with out spending mega bucks.
