- What does this mean?
The MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay features a completely analog audio path for the ultimate in rich, warm delay-made possible only by old-school bucket brigade technology. This design boasts an amazing 600ms of delay time with optional modulation via a top-mounted switch and a simple, three-knob layout that controls Delay time, Mix (dry/wet blend), and Regen (delay repeats)-all in a pedal no bigger than a Phase 90. In addition, two internal trim pots offer user-adjustable width and rate control of the modulation for even more tonal options. The Carbon Copy will take you from crisp “bathroom” slap echoes to epic, Gilmour-esque delays with a twist of a knob. True hardwire bypass, single 9-volt operation, and stage-ready blue LEDs round out the package. Available only from Dunlop Manufacturing, the world's leader in analog pedal technology.

A really great pedal. Three well know sounds which I could produce easily are 50s rockabilly twang, Pink Floyd’s swirling shimmering echoes and ska or reggae chops. (br/) (br/)A great analogue circuit rather than a digital pedal, which makes the delay tone richer and warmer. I use it with my Blues Junior set with the spring reverb at 3 for a wide and airy sound. Simply put it sounded fantastic and it made me play better. That’s what pedals are for!

Lovely warm delay, bought again, first one died after a couple of years of hard gigging.

Vintage, organic sounding analogue delay - loads of character, and has proved far more inspiring musically than my previous, more sterile, DD3.

Great Delay pedal, sturdy, well built, excellent finish, easy to use and reasonably priced. A welcome addition to my pedal board and sounds fantastic. Just what i was looking for, having tried many other delay pedals over the years. (br/)Well pleased with this pedal.

I was looking for a natural sounding ambient delay and found MXR Carbon Copy with its dark analog repeats to be perfect for the job. While 600 ms delay time doesn't look impressive on paper, it's more than enough for my needs. You just have to be careful with your settings because it can start oscillating any time depending on your playing. Modulation sounds watery and adds depth to the overall sound. It was too prominent right out of the box but it can be adjusted via two internal trim pots.
Build quality is outstanding! All components are mounted to a thick printed circuit board and cased inside a metal shell that looks like it would survive WWIII. Jacks feel tight and make an assuring 'click' noise. Knobs turn smoothly and have glow-in-the-dark indicators that are easy to see in the dark. The only drawback is the battery access but most people will probably use an optional adapter anyway since delay pedals doesn't last too long on batteries. I powered mine with BOSS PSA-230 which is smaller than most 9V DC adapters and has a longer cable.

Finding our way with this but initially just what we wanted - analog, simple to use, small footprint and some great effects, fractional delay really bigs up your sound - although less is more as it's easy to over do it with this ... just ask the rest of the band!

I am very pleased with the build quality, sound, look and ease of use on the MXR delay pedal. It is a high quality pedal with simple functions which was all I wanted. The only reason I have gave it 4 stars is that when you turn the delay speed up to it's fastest delay setting, it can make a very loud ticking noise that really would disappoint some users. The pedal has all I need and I am happy with my purchase, but do consider that ticking noise if you want a fast delay.

Nice little pedal. I wanted something warm, subtle and simple and this hits the spot nicely. Great if you're after something to enhance rather than dominate your tone

has to be the best delay i have ever used ( had boss, memory man, aqua puss, watkins copy cat and many more.) but for the sound I'm after playing Rockabilly and country picking styles this pedal has no match under £300. A definite winner.

Excellent piece of kit - tried a few digital delays which put your guitar signal thru a dsp which can colour sound and reduce tone. This does nothing of the sort - pure loveliness as it is full analogue bucket brigade tech, and the balance between processed and unprocessed is the same.Chorus button to add modulation to the delay signal is getting more common, but it is implemented well here, and depth and speed can be adjusted with internal trimpots. So impressed I bought two.Excellent delay pedal!!

I was looking for a what I call an authentic delay sound, with fade and response. I have had digital pedals which may work great for some but through my Deluxe Reverb those pedals just did not sound right. The second I srrarted playing through the MXR was the moment I knew that the analogue delay with a tube amp was perfection for me. Its a sturdy little pedal, built to last and nice n easy to use. I used some of my Andertons loyalty points to help pay for it which was a nice bonus.

When it comes to guitars or cars, anything that's finished in sparklecoat British Racing Green is already a winner. This joybunny is no exception.
Time, I think, to free yourself from the clinical processes of your DD3 and embrace the warmth and musicality of the CC. Great slapback, and very musical, spacious delays. Loads of easy, immediate control, and no degradation to your guitar sound either switched in or bypassed.
The chorus/mod on the effect signal is a real asset. Opens the sound up just enough without sounding obviously wobbly or processed.
Plenty of exploring to do, but hard to find anything but great sounds with this very high quality box -

I only use a handful of pedals and have tried wherever possible to get the very best in terms of quality of build and sound. The MXR Carbon Copy is perfect in both respects. I tried a DD7 on my pedalboard and it was just too noisy even when off so I went for the CC which is true bypass and it is silent when it's supposed to be. The LEDs are bright for live work and you can get some great, diverse sounds from it, from short slap back delays to longer echoes, and I love how the echoes trail off in true analogue style. Of course if you want pristine copies of the original sound then you are probably not looking for an analogue delay and should look to buy digital, but I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great delay and an incredible price. MXR make some first rate gear which is accessible to pub giggers as well as pros. Simply outstanding.

Great pedal, great sounding, very reliable, what more could you want?
A wide range of natural sounding delays with the addition of the 'mod' switch which gives you a subtle chorus on the repeats that emulates the old tape delays - which we all love but lack the practicality of the carbon copy.
To conclude, an awesome pedal which may just be the one to replaced everyone's much loved tape delays!! 5*
