The Jim Dunlop Original Cry Baby Wah

I think Jim Dunlop claim this to be the biggest selling guitar pedal of all time, with over 1,000,000 units sold since it was first introduced! I know that Andertons has sold a few - thats for sure!! The Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah is certainly a classic sounding pedal & great value too. The pedal is well built & will stand up to years of abuse, although we highly recommend spraying some switch cleaner into the pot every 6 months or so, to stop the pot becoming dirty & crackly. If you're a big wah fan then check out the modifications that Michael Fuller has made to the wah pedal with his Fulltone Clyde Standard Wah & Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah - search for "Fulltone" in the search box at the top of this page.

Here's what Jim Dunlop say about the Orignal Crybaby Wah Pedal

If it aint broke, dont fix it. The Crybaby Wah Wah has stood the test of time and has served generations of guitarists of every style. The sound is unmistakable, and frankly, has never been duplicated. There is but one control, the pedal itself - that is all you need to add this classic sound to your own. Mash the pedal down and the effect kicks in. Mash it again and you have engaged the bypass and your pure signal passes through. Here is a secret of the pros: turn the effect on and find that sweet spot about half way down the travel of the pedal. Leave it right there, and turn up the crunch on your amp. Its a sound you have heard and tried to get, but just couldn't get quite right. Its heavy-duty construction means you will wear out pairs of shoes before you wear the Crybaby out. There is a saying that they don't make them like they used to, which is disproved here, because they are still making the Crybaby like they used to.

When people talk about wah pedals, they're talking about the Crybaby. This is the original?the one that created some of the most timeless sounds in rock. Relied on by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, David Gilmour, and many other greats.

Features: Heavy die cast construction for years of reliability, 100K ohm Hot Potz potentiometer that allows for that quick, abrupt wah sound. Powered by a 9v Adapter and/or 9 volt battery.

1000's of famous users all around the world - here are a few!

Eric Clapton
Joe Perry - Aerosmith
Lenny Kravitz
Billy Gibbons
Ted Nugent
Lyle Workman - Sting, Beck
Domique Miller - Sting
Vince Gill
Dan Huff - Nashville Studio Ace
Buddy Guy
Bo Diddley
Steve Cropper
Matt "Guitar" Murphy
Eric Gales

The original and one of the best. Not had it long but so far so good. It doesn't have any of the bells an whistles of some other pedals but then is doesn't cost as much either. I had to cut down the rubber feet to fit on my pedal board without the back rattling. It might be something to think about if you are planning to put it on your pedal board.

First impressions are good. Bought as a replacement for the wah on a Zoom pedal and it's such a huge improvement.. Seems very well built.

Brilliant value for money, really sturdy so should last for years of playing, I had a cable I thought would work for it, it didn't work, put a battery in and it works perfect, really good sound from it, very happy.

Hi good people, well didn't he do well. I bought the Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah Pedal, and guess what? It does exactly what it says on the box! This is perhaps the best single purchase I've made in years. I love it. The build quality is great, very solid. The switch is easy to use as is the pedal itself. The monster variation in tone is awsome. You can choose to sound like you're on the moon wearing ear plugs, three hats and a tightly fitting crash helmet.....or you can sound like a perpetually falling set of the finest Sheffield stainless steel cutlery crashing onto the marble floor in the hall of a large stately home. Your choice. And don't think for one moment that you won't try to play the theme from Shaft.....because you will. Buy one and accept no immitations. Ps, I've renamed it the Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Battery Eating Pedal; it just love those 9volters.
