I saw the advert for this in a guitar mag. That Marshall were doing five limited edition runs of 1 Watt versions for each of their five decades as a semi-centenary celebration, had completely passed me by. One edition had sold out already. However, the 70s JMP that I would have gone for anyway was still available.
I'd wanted a 1W amp for the "studio" ever since seeing the review of the Blackstar 1W. A Marshall centenary 1W was a must-have.
The sound is excellent (although I wasn't a Marshall man; I was a Vox AC30 man), it's plenty loud enough for a room; and the look is perfect. It seems a very accurate reproduction so, for example, there's no effects loop. I'll have to figure out how to add "post-Marshalled" reverb, etc. There are a couple of back-panel extras though: a one-tenth Watt switch and a boost switch.
I'm very pleased.
