The Fender Highway One Jazz Bass gets you an American made bass, without the American made price tag! How do Fender do this? The basic construction of the Highway One guitar is the same as on the more expensive "American Series", but Fender have made a few cost savings.
For example, instead of a hard case you get a decent gig bag with the Highway One Jazz Bass. You don't get the hand rolled edges on the fret board, but you do get a cool looking '70s style headstock and a Badass II bridge system! The finishes are satin rather than gloss urethane as used on the more expensive guitars, but the Highway One is still made from solid alder and plays and sounds just great.
Here's what Fender say about the Highway One J-Bass
The Highway One Jazz Bass guitar has several upgrades and new features, including an alder body, modern C-shaped maple neck with 20-fret rosewood fingerboard and '70s headstock decal, Badass II bridge with grooved saddles, Greasebucket tone circuit, three-ply parchment pickguard and satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that will wear more easily to reflect the journey you take together. Deluxe gig bag included.
