As far as rating bass strings go, there doesn't seem much these days to distinguish between them. However, there is defiantly something about these strings that i like.

    Bass

Due to the thick gauge of the low E string intonation is often affected if you are moving from a light gauge string so to check after restringing your bass. The low 105 packs a hell of a wallop with a nice deep throaty sound, however unless you adjust the EQ settings on your amp you are going to lose a lot of the tone.

    Mids

The 65 and the 85 on the other hand could not be balanced better. They have a nice smooth range and seem to hold pretty much the same tension as slightly lighter strings, but still check your neck. Playability is superb and quick.

    Treble

Here is where i always get a little muddled. I have a always seem the bass guitar as a rhythm instrument, not a solo one so i never really pay much attention to the top end of a bass apart from the odd embellishments. Although in saying that the top 45 is nice and sturdy and does produce a very soft and mild tone that can be supplemented by a boost on the EQ in the 5000HZ range.

As for durability i can defiantly comment there. I bought my Dean ML over 5 years ago and had a set of these put on to replace the factory strings that had been used in the store. Those strings were changed about 2 days after i bought this set. And ever after 5 years they were nice and clean and still held good tone.

So overall a very nice set of strings that will last a long time if you treat them well.
