Mackie SRM450 v2 Active Speaker (Price Each)

CHECK OUT OUR GREAT BUNDLE DEALS ON THE SRM450 - CLICK HERE

The original Mackie SRM450 active speaker was our biggest selling PA product ever. It sounded great, was compact & easy to carry, it was really loud, very reliable & it looked great too! In fact, we wondered just why Mackie thought it necessary to discontinue it! Then we heard the SRM450 v2 & we understood. The Mackie SRM450 v2 uses the same cabinet as the original SRM450, so it's still very compact & easy to carry. However, most of the internal components have been replaced & the result is a lighter, punchier, more efficient & even more reliable speaker - even when used at high power for long periods of time.

The Mackie SRM450 v2 is sure to carry on the legacy of the original SRM450 & will continue to be the number choice for gigging solo/duo acts, full bands, DJ's & entertainers.

Here's what Mackie say about the SRM450 v2

Now, thanks to the all-new SRMv2 Series Portable Active Loudspeakers, live sound is being rocked by a new movement. Featuring new powerful Class-D Fast Recovery amplifiers, with an ultra-efficient, heat-minimizing switching power supply, the SRMv2 loudspeakers are made to be loud and stay cool-even when driven at top volume, all night long. Plus, with all new transducers, including a neodymium woofer with 3-inch voice coil and heat-treated titanium compression driver, the SRMv2s deliver even more punch and clarity than the original SRM loudspeakers. Bringing whole new meaning to the word "portable," the SRMv2 loudspeakers are more lightweight than their predecessors, too-the SRM450v2 weighs 11 pounds less, and the SRM350v2 weighs 6 pounds less.

  • 2-way bi-amplified, optimized Active loudspeaker system
  • High-output precision titanium compression driver
  • Neodymium long-throw low frequency transducer with 3-inch voice coil
  • Servo Feedback controlled woofer for tight low-end punch
  • 300W class-D, Fast Recovery LF amp / 100W HF amp
  • Ultra-wide, smooth dispersion via multi-cell horn aperture and HF waveguide
  • Built-in phase-accurate 24dB Linkwitz-Riley electronic crossover
  • Mackie Active Electronic time alignment, phase correction and EQ for studio quality sound
  • Mic/line input and pass-thru connector
  • Lightweight for ultimate portability (40lbs)
  • Flyable, Pole Mountable, Floor Wedge-able

Right from the start you get a 'work horse' feel from these speakers. Good solid construction, good bass response which you might need to tweak down in some cases - we have had positive feedback from our gigs from the punters and the sound quality/volume has not posed any issues at all -does equally well for disco use. Ran these powered speakers for about 3 hours each time and they only got a bit warm at the back, so, overall, I would say money well spent - these speakers will pay for themselves.

Not having used this particular cab before I bought a pair on the strength of the reviews I had read and I must say I have not been disappointed at all. A quality speaker with a great look and excellent range of sound. Easy to understand why they've sold so well!

I bought these speakers as part of Anderton's Mackie bundle deal and have not been disappointed.

They have been used for several gigs and have easily coped with the medium sized venues we played at.

Not as heavy as you might think and with handles positioned on either side, them are quite easy to carry.

Mackie deliver an excellent product. The bi amped power is very clean with loads of headroom for the the small to medium venue. Provides clear vocals and good bottom end. I would recommend the SRM450v2 for vocal, duo or full band reinforcement.

Great speakers. Possibly lacking some low end which can be overcome with a mackie SWA. I also own an old Italian pair which some people claim to be better. Frankly, I didn't see any problem with the new model. It is much lighter in weight also! Highly recommneded!

Initially had two problems with these:

    1. One of the speakers had a low level buzz. It took a couple of replacements to find another quiet one.

    2. The pole mount socket clamp on the other one had a mechanical problem. We opened yet another fresh one from the box and it had the same fault! Andertons very helpfully took the original one into their workshop and quickly filed it down/adjusted it while I waited.

So top marks for Andertons service. It's a shame Mackie quality control seems a bit dodgy (now made in China??). Having said that, I'm pleased with the end result.

Very pleased with the delivery time and service. Sound quality is excellent, but i was very disppointed to find that the first time I used the speakers, one of the LED's on the front didn't work. I have called and been offered a replacement immediatley, so it's not really a big problem other than the incovenience.

I have gigged with these speakers twice in the last week, and I am extremely happy. I am a female singer with quite a high voice and they have a warm, even sound and loads of power. They are much clearer than the previous speakers I have used and they project very well. I was concerned that these lighter versions of the first 450s might sound a bit hollow, but they sound fantastic. Very happy.

Early days, but coped well with school concert [loud]. Good projection forwards - the 90* horizontal dispersion and limited rearward sound minimised feedback issues, even with mics well forward. Possibly a little harsh at hi mid frequencies, but generally clear and well balanced sound.

    Integrate well with 1801 subwoofers.

Easy lift onto speaker stands - fairly light with good handles.
