Fender's new line of high powered Acoustasonic Acoustic amps offer up a feast of features to ensure that this amp is a complete package and all the solo acoustic player will ever need. Featuring two simultaneous channels (one for the guitar and the other for vocals) means that singer-songwriters don't need to lug around a PA at all. The Vocal channel has an XLR input (with phantom power) to accept any pro-grade microphone and features full EQ and digital effects, so no outboard or seperate reverb needed!
The Acoustasonic 150's guitar channel offers the typical volume and EQ functions but also has some very neat new features: a 'string dynamics' compressor tames the high strings to a variable degree and there are a selection of digital effects (reverbs, choruses etc) to further sweeten the sound. But the most unique feature of the guitar channel is the 'voicing' control which allows you to sculp the tone of your acoustic guitar to emulate a Parlor, Dreadnaught or Jumbo sized body. And continuing on the Acoustasonic's 'only-amp-you'll-need' ethos the voicing control also offers three amp models for electric guitars (Blackface, Tweed and British) allowing you to use the amp with an electric guitar too when the need arises!
Both channels feature independent feedback rejection circuits that can be individually turned on or off
The Acoustasonic 150 is a fully stereo amp to give lushious and rich effects
Here's what Fender say about the Acoustasonic 150
The new Fender Acoustasonic 150 is perfect for the acoustic guitarist who needs a light, loud, versatile and flexible amp loaded with tonal innovations and useful features.
The Acoustasonic 150 packs full acoustic resonance and crystal clarity into a lightweight (only 22.5 lbs.) amp with a new ultra-efficient 150-watt (2x75) stereo power amp, dual 8" foam-surround low-frequency drivers and high-frequency tweeter. Its new Voicing control lets any guitar simulate the tonality of parlor, dreadnought and jumbo acoustics, or Voicing can be turned off for pure amp output response. For acoustic players who double on electric guitar, the Voicing control also has Blackface, tweed and British amp settings, which makes a second amp just for electric guitar unnecessary.
Other features include instrument and microphone channels with independent EQ and effects controls; new feedback elimination control with on/off switch for each channel; patented String Dynamics control that tames harsh treble notes; effects including reverb, delay, chorus, Vibratone, and more; XLR line out with level control and ground lift; stereo effects loop; USB connector for digital recording output (and possible future firmware updates); strong five-ply plywood construction and optional two-button effects select footswitch.
