Fender Standard Jazz Bass The Fender Jazz Bass is another classic instrument & has been a firm favourite with bass players since its introduction in the 60's. Compared to the Fender P Bass, the Jazz Bass features a different shape body, a slimmer neck & two bi pole pickups that you can control separately. The Standard model is made in Fenders Hi-Tec Mexican guitar plant. Fenders Mexican plant is fantastic - it builds guitars that compete price wise with most Far Eastern made guitars, and yet the plant is overseen daily by the Fender USA based management team - despite being in another country they are in fact only about 4-5 hours drive away in California! The guitars & basses that come out of the Mexican plant are great quality and superb value.
Compared to some modern style basses the Fender Jazz Bass does have quite a large body which perhaps doesn't lend itself to younger/smaller bass players. However, if you're OK with the size, the Fender Standard Jazz Bass its an absolute winner.
