Based on the concept of the original MPC series, the Akai MPD24 is the ultimate tool for rhythm production. The Akai Professional MPD24 USB MIDI Pad Control Unit provides musicians and DJs working with sampled sounds 16 velocity and pressure sensitive MPC-style pads as well as transport control (REW, FF, STOP, PLAY AND REC) for interfacing with DAW and sequencing applications. The MPD24 offers 16 Levels and Full Level features for ultimate pad control, four selectable pad banks for a total of 64 pads, six assignable faders and eight assignable high resolution 360-degree knobs for transmitting MIDI Control Change data. To connect an external sound module, connect a 5-pin MIDI cable from the MPD24 to the MIDI In of the external device. The MPD24 provides the flexibility of a MIDI controller with the intuitive feel of a drum pad.
