Ashdown MAG C410T-300 Bass Amp
Ashdown is one of the worlds biggest names in bass amplification. They have a huge list of famous users (U2, System of a Down, Radio Head, Jamiroquai - the list goes on & on!), and whats even better is that Ashdown is a British company. The Ashdown Mag C410T-300 Combo is a semi pro 4x10 bass combo that's ideal for the player who's regularly playing small pubs & clubs. The 4x10" speaker configuration gives a nice tight bass end, but still moves some serious air! The pre amp controls are also probably better than you'd expect on an amp of this money. The sub harmonic switch is also a very popular feature on the Ashdown Mag Series amps. The switch kicks in a sub octave effect (it duplicates the bass signal but an octave below the actual signal) that really fattens up the sound. A 4x10 combo is pretty big, so if you don't have a roadie (ha ha!) you'll probably need a hand getting this in & out of venues. As with all the Mag series products, the price is outstanding for an amp with these features.
Here's what Ashdown say about the MAG C410T-300 Combo
The MAG C410T-300 4 x 10" + tweeter combo features a potent new fan-cooled 307 watts RMS power section. Rotary bass, middle and treble controls are supplemented by smaller rotary controls providing 15dB of cut and boost at 220Hz and 1.6kHz, providing a comprehensive 5 band EQ section. Additionally, front panel push switches for Bright and Deep settings provide instant access to attacking and warm, rounded sounds respectively and, on the subject of low-end response, the trademark Ashdown sub-harmonic generator is ready and able to deliver truck loads of earth moving tone if called upon. Inputs are provided for active and passive instruments and the front panel also features an effects send and return, a tuner/line output and a balanced DI output for direct connection to a mixing console.
All MAG combos have extension speaker outputs and are loaded with Ashdown BlueLine speakers for exceptional attack, clarity and low-end performance. Protection is provided by tough black carpet covering and new steel grilles, while the amplifier chassis is constructed from light yet strong, heat-dissipating magnesium alloy for roadie-free portability. And, of course, the famous Ashdown VU meter remains central to the cool look of these great, value for money bass amplifiers.
