A new head from Epiphone featuring vintage tones without sacrificing the flexibility you can find in one of todays modern modeling amplifiers.
This amp features 16 DSP selections on top of a separate DSP reverb. The possibilities are virtually endless.
A very happy customer review! Features : 9 (out of 10) Saw the 100w head w/ matching 4x12" cab and fell in love! The oxblood color and rattan cane cloth is really sharp looking in a clearly "retro style." I bought this for fun & practice in my home. I use a smaller Marshall JTM 60w 3x10" combo in church.
Sound Quality : 9 The DSP effects offer a lot of latitude for coloring your sound. The gain channel sounds better with humbuckers than with single coils...yeah, I know it is not a Mesa Boogie, but is fairly decent. Really good clean channel when used with my acoustic/electrics, and Gibson ES series guitars. Plenty loud when needed, and no "hum" when on either channel.
Reliability : 8 Unreal low price...both the 100w head & matching 4x12" cab.
Overall Rating : 10 I have played in church worship bands for 25 years. Since I use a Marshall combo amp (see above) with pedal board & 5 effects in church :) I have my bases covered. I have played a number of guitars with both humbuckers & single coils through this set up: it seems to prefer the humbuckers. This head has two features that I don't have on my peadal board: delay and flanger, and that is a plus. For the price, the features, power, and looks, are outstanding.
